Haven’t posted in a while (over two months if you do the math) so I’ll play a quick game of catch up: Since April 29th I

  • a. Got engaged.
  • b. Got married.
  • c. Started looking for a new place to live

I’ve been exercising daily and have lost over 10 pounds, and I caught World Cup fever.
Today is now July 4th, and I can tell you that this morning I got up after 5 hours of sleep and we went to a parade that was already over. Then we drove down a road that for all intents and purposes was closed to drivers, and followed a crowd to a field where “festivities” were to occur. It was 93 degrees, sunny and humid, and around 11am. After a short walk around we decided not to wait another hour for the pie eating contest to start, because that would surely be stupid. Then we went home and proceeded to watch a hot dog eating contest on TV, in its entirety. Yes, I know.

But then the (not so, as it were) good stuff came — the first game of the semi-finals which pitted the hopefuls, Germany, against the betting favorites, Italy, for a classic battle that after 119 minutes was 0-0 and headed to penalty kicks, and after 120 minutes was 2-0 Italy and over.

That’s all for now.
