WordpressI’m migrating this blog from Blogger to WordPress, and I’m migrating my ongoing education from Drexel to NJIT. Who knows what I’ll be migrating next, probably from being a person who sleeps to an insomniac.

Some things that may be of interest to you about this migration are:

  1. Wordpress is a dynamic environment. Because of this, I’ll probably be converting the entire site to php. This invalidates some of what I mentioned in the previous post about having a “static site”.
  2. I am indeed switching graduate programs from Drexel to NJIT. Due to the nature of Drexel’s quarter system VS NJIT’s standard semester system, I get a break for a couple months. Probably be giving this site an overhaul during the downtime, much of which (the overhaul) has already been completed.
Although I may still take a couple courses at NJIT, I decided ultimately to stay at Drexel
  3. The new layout was inspired by the default WordPress layout, however it’s completely different under the hood.
  4. This ordered list is gratuitous. I know this, don’t bother telling me.

You’re already an insomniac.

Incredible that this post was made over a year ago.

I should be noted, then, that I indeed migrate to WP and have now just completely redone this site. I think green suits the elf a little better than blue did.

I’m trying to give this place a nice, clean, intuitive feel. The old posting/comments format was horrible to actually read (though aesthetically it was pretty slick).

I’m also starting to add some javascript for usability - but not too much javascript - because too much javascript can kill small mammals. The collapseable sidebar items, for instance. Usability, usability, usability.
