Everybody loves apples.
February 9th, 2006The other day I came across this blog of a Nano bash, and probably read about one third of the comments before I got bored of listening to the same old thirteen-year-old-like whine of an Apple fanatic. Then today I came across the author’s rebuttal, which is pretty much a summarization of a picture I saw on the Internet a few years back while observing an argument on IRC.
What we have here is a good old virtual geek fight. It’s amazing the things that computer geeks will say when there is no actual chance of a personal encounter, although I have seen the odd personal challenge like “tell me where you live,” or, from the clever ones who check the hostmask, “oh you live in so and so? I got boys in so and so.”
From the author, I particularly like number ten in his list that addresses this hilarity, and which I quote directly:
10. My computer is probably old and manufactured by an unpopular company.
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but the computer aficionado’s idea of a taunt is probably the funniest thing about all of this, don’t you think?
I now leave you with this (with apologies):
